We are failing miserably as a nation! Keep reading this has nothing to do with politics. Only 23 percent of Amercian’s 18 -64 meet the guidelines for weekly physical activity according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Pennsylvania was right at the national average.
According to federal guidelines, adults should do 150 minutes of moderate physical activity or 75 minutes of vigorous activity each week. They should do muscle-strengthening activities twice a week.
What do I think we can do about this?
- Well, the easy answer is get up and join the training to be a wonder woman challenge if you are reading this in August of 2018. It will get you on the right path in 6 weeks.
- Even easier just get into Absolute Pilates 2 to 4 times a week for a variety of classes.
- That does not sound right to you then get out there and move as much as your time permits
- Then pass this information along and make sure you are trying to motivate you people especially your kids
I am a believer that there is fitness for everyone you just have to find what works for you! Get other there and save the day!
I will not pressure Alivia into doing any sport or activity but I will keep presenting her chance to try things so she can find things she loves to do and has fun doing. Do not get me wrong I do not love every minute of the runs I go on, class I take, or classes I teach. Most of the time I am having fun and feel great when I am done!
I also never turn down a chance to teach kids and teens. I have been to local clubs, middle schools, and high schools. Some kids are not athletes but they need fitness too so they might fall in love with fitness class and I need to expose as many people as possible.
